Storm

Saturday, August 16, 2014

Drenched shoes and graveled steps
She climbs the steps, blind.
Leaving the raging storm behind.
Backpack riddled
With winking badges
She fishes for keys.
Sneaking open the door
To her own
Gulp of peace.
Coffee stains on dusty books
She makes the bed, blind
Oblivious to the storm outside.
A creaking guitar
By the leaking window,
Greet her through the gaps
The computer
Older than her
Dozes silently wrapped.
Sculpted pen and watered ink
She writes invisible, blind.

Of the eerie calm inside.
